Time to Put GP2015 in the Rear View! 3 Reasons You Need to Move to GPNew

Technology is continually changing, which can often mean the software you are using may be in need of change as well. This is the case if your organization is still on Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) 2015. Mainstream Support for GP2015 and GP2015 R2 ended on 04/20/20 – meaning those of you still on it will no longer receive tax and year-end updates, a critical matter if your business relies on GP for Payroll and other compliance reporting/calculation concerns (i.e.: 1099 forms, fixed asset depreciation allowances, etc.). So, if you’re still on GP2015, now is the time to upgrade to keep your accounting software relevant and as efficient as possible.

While updating to the newest version may not have been on your list of priorities, Microsoft’s announcement in 2019 that Dynamics GP has been added to Modern Lifecycle Policy is great news for you and other long-time users. Once you get to the newest release of GP (GPNew), future updates effectively eliminate much of the upgrade headache and cost you have experienced historically.

Upgrade to GPNew today, and:

  • Keep Your Technology Relevant – Based on user feedback, on-going research and development, as well as any government or industry-specific guidelines, Microsoft makes adjustments to the software you utilize to make it more effective and efficient. If ignored or delayed too long, your organization’s ability to leverage best practice methodologies and relevant system platform standards across your team will ultimately become more difficult, time-consuming, and costly to adopt down the road.
  • Get the Information You Need – In terms of payroll and other tax-related data and reporting, Microsoft provides the most current information needed to create forms and documents that are up-to-date. Essentially, if you don’t upgrade GP2015, your documents and reports won’t be compliant.
  • Makes Your Life a Little Easier – GP updates provide a number of improvements – some small, some significant – each of which improves some aspect of your day-to-day processes. For example, did you know typical Office cut and paste functionality now exists for General Ledger and Accounts Payable in GPNew?
